Nanotechnologies against liver tumor. Livera case.

On 23 March 21, at 5.00 pm, LIFE SCIENCES FOR SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY the first WEBINAR took place:

During the WEBINAR, LIVERA start-up case was examined, a concept derived from Ananas Nanotech experience. Its founder, Professor Margherita Morpurgo of UNIPD, has developed know-how and obtained patents relating to the technology avidin nanoparticles of nucleic acids (ANANAS), the so-called drug delivery. Ananas Nanotech, spoke with Dr. Fabrizio Paganini, as a result of their combined knowledge and experience additional technologies were developed for the controlled release of medicines.

Together with Pietro Invernizzi (Director of the Gastroenterology – ASST of Monza, and an international expert in autoimmune liver diseases of the Milan-Bicocca University) together with other business experts, Ananas Nanotech established a second start-up in 2019, LIVERA, with the aim of studying the application of these patents and technologies to fight liver tumors.

LIVERA participated in and won the ZetaCube Open Accelerator Program tender, allowing it to receive funds (seed) destined for growth.

Ettore Salce and Carlo Scarpa, lawyers of Tonucci & Partners, assisted both Ananas Nanotech and LIVERA in the management of patent licenses and in the drafting of agreements with the various partners, they also provided assistance in corporate areas.

Moderated by Professor Paolo Gubitta, Deputy Director of the Department of Economics and Business Sciences – University of Padua.

The event lasted about 45 minutes.
