Legislative Decree no. 24/2023 implementing European Directive with regard to the so-called “whistleblowing”, which concerns the protection of individuals who report violations of Union law and national provisions, entered into force and took effect on March 30th 2023. Public bodies and private companies must implement a management system of reporting unlawful conduct, aiming at the facilitation of any offense and risk situation emergence. Entities and companies with 250 or more employees will have to comply no later than July 15th 2023 while private sector entities that have employed less than 250 employees on average in the last year, will bear the obligation to establish the internal reporting system as per effect from December 17th 2023.
