As part of “KEY – The Energy Transition Expo” which took place at Rimini Expo Center, the conference “Floating photovoltaics: exploring opportunities to strengthen renewables in Italy”, set up by AERO – Association of Offshore Renewable Energy, occurred on March 7th 2025 and offered an overview of floating offshore photovoltaics, involving sector experts, institutions and industry representatives.
Stefano Lucarini of Tonucci & Partners attended the event as a speaker with his contribution “Legal particularities and regulatory gaps: the Italian case”, delving into the current regulatory framework and the main regulatory challenges that determine the development of this technology, fundamental to the country’s energy transition.
On this occasion, the first AERO position paper “Offshore floating photovoltaics in Italy” was officially presented, which legal aspects were edited by Stefano Lucarini, Piergiuseppe Venturella and Teresa Di Mario, members of the Association’s Legal Working Group. The aim, as stated by the representatives, is to actively stimulate the implementation of these technologies, offering a clear and complete overview of an emerging sector that is of strategic importance to the energy transition.
AERO position paper – “Offshore floating photovoltaics in Italy”
