A video surveillance system installed on a street open to public needs to be authorized by the Municipality.

Lazio Regional Administrative Court (TAR) has ruled that any video surveillance system installed on a street “open to the public” (albeit private) requires the express authorization of the Municipality which is responsible for crime prevention and for territory control as pursuant to directive 2016/680.
