Pasquale Silvestro of Tonucci & Partners and Vice-President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania (CCIpR) chaired the event ‘Beyond the deal. Where business, governance & legal strategy drive value’, organized by CCIpR and related to the evolving role of the General Counsel and its growing importance in corporate strategy.
The meeting began with opening remarks from Mario Tonucci, Founder and Senior Partner at Tonucci & Partners, who shared his vision on the importance of legal advice as a strategic element for the growth and development of business. This was followed by presentations from Cristian Covaciu, International Corporates Director at UniCredit Bank Romania, and Roberto Musneci, President of the CCIpR.
The discussion was attended by Ana-Maria Baciu (Metlen Energy & Metals), Manlio Niccolai (Fincantieri Spa), Gianni Rigoni (Techno Engineering & Associates), Alexandru Stanescu (Lexters Law Firm) and Gabriel Marcu (Generali Romania).
The discussion explored the transformation of the General Counsel role, from a predominantly technical and risk-management-oriented function to that of a strategic partner within companies, increasingly involved in decision-making processes, negotiations, corporate governance and business planning.
