As by January 2016, Italy became the first European country to create a new legal status for companies so called “Società Benefit”. The Italian law defines a “common benefit” as the creation of positive effects (or the reduction of negative ones) to vis-à-vis individuals, communities, territories and environment, cultural and social heritage, entities and associations as well as other stakeholders. These companies represent a new way of doing business. Contribution by Barbara Pontecorvo of Tonucci & Partners on EditorialeDomani.
