On the occasion of Made in Italy Day, celebrated on April 15TH , 2025, Fabio Boscariol De Roberto ATTENDED the event “Made in Italy: Cultural Heritage focus” set up by INDICAM – Italian Association for Intellectual Property Protection.
In particular, Fabio Boscariol conducted a podcast regarding the relationship among trademarks and cultural heritage: he analyzed how trademark regulation is intertwined with the Cultural Heritage Code rules, focusing on the limits and opportunities related to the commercial usage of protected goods images. Furthermore, the concept of “cultural interest” in trademark opposition and revocation proceedings was also discussed and some real cases involving monuments and works as symbols of our heritage were explored.
A comparison full of ideas which highlighted the importance of a balance among Made in Italy development, intellectual property protection and cultural identity safeguard.
