Italian recent regulations aim to distinguish and enhance the trademarks that have been present nationally for at least 50 years granting them a new trademark.
The Italian Government with the “Growth Decree”, has introduced a new type of brand, to enhance the attractiveness of those Italian brands that have been present on the national market for at least 50 years, whether they are registered trademarks or not, provided that effective and continued use can be demonstrated. Thanks to this, these companies will therefore be able to use the “Historical brand of national interest” LOGO for commercial and promotional purposes. The procedure for obtaining such titles takes place before the UIBM (Italian Patent and Trademark Office).
This trademark may be combined with the company’s trademark, but only for those products to which it refers to. In any case, it is reasonable to assume that this promotion may retain a certain appeal to the Italian consumers and not only, but also for those companies that are selling Italian products and service on foreign markets too, where the so-called “Italian sounding” is able to determine the purchasers’ choice.
Such new logo- the one that you see in the picture above – shall be a new marketing tool for Italian companies and products, and will be used to highlight the Italian identify of the veteran Italian companies that accompanied our economic life in the last couple of generation.
Italian Government and economic operators believe that this new tool shall be helpful for the national Economy, but also for foreign companies that are owner of Italian Companies and Brands.
