Future belongs to Smart Agrifood: APE case.

The next appointment with webinar cycle “Life Sciences for Sustainable Future” focused on APE case that deals with the optimization of agricultural production in vertical farming. The Vertical Farm A.P.E. was born on 2019 by the idea to requalify industrial buildings on a circular economy perspective in order to reduce soil waste; it is a pilot project set up as an experimental laboratory that studies the applicability of nutraceutical and eco-sustainable agri-food productions made with Vertical Farming systems. This kind of Farming is being considered a method that will help humanity satisfy its food needs in the near future.

The Speakers participating in the Webinar were:

– Valentina Carboni, partner and agronomist of APE |She talked about APE as an innovative start-up and its business project.

– Gian Marco Polizzotto, APE Biologist Manager | He talked about the research activity that generates the know-how.

– Helene Thibault, Partner of Tonucci | She talked about know-how protection and secrecy.

– Carlo Scarpa, Partner of Tonucci | He talked about know-how protection and licensing agreements.

The meeting was moderated by Paolo Gubitta, Deputy Director of the Economics and Business Department – University of Padua.
