Tonucci & Partners has been selected by World Bank and has acted as sole legal advisor of the Albanian Government in the privatization of leading state-owned companies active in the strategic sectors of Telecommunications (AMC and Albtelekom), Oil and Gas (Armo, Albpetrol), Mining (Albkrom, Albaker). The purpose of this contract is to assist the Albanian Ministry of Public Economy and Privatisation in performing the legal due-diligence and reforming the corporate documents and acts of the companies to be privatised, in preparing all tender documentation, in drafting public information prospects and exhibits, in reviewing the regulatory framework, reviewing and implementing the strategic investment policies and assisting in resolving all legal and regulatory issues related to the dismissal of state-owned equities. Among other techniques of privatisation, BOT and ROT Concessions have been used and implemented in order to finalise the privatisation process.

Furthermore, Tonucci & Partners Albania has actively participated in drafting significant Albanian legislation including the Albanian Constitution of 1998 and the Albanian Custom Code.

“E.U. PHARE” Commission and the Albanian Government appointed Tonucci & Partners as legal advisor and coordinator on the reform and development of economic legislation in Albania. Tonucci & Partners supervised and coordinated the group of more than 50 international professionals specialized in the nine legal fields to be reformed by the economic legislation. Lawyers from Tonucci & Partners regularly advise Foreign Embassies in Albania and the Delegation of the European Union to Albania on ad hoc basis. The Firm has also assisted OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-peration in Europe) in several projects on legislative reforms in Albania.

Moreover, Tonucci & Partners Albania is member of the Board of Directors of the C.C.I.A. The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Albania, a member of the Board of Directors of the F.I.A.A. (Foreign Investors Association in Albania). The firm is also member of the AM.CHAM. (The American Chamber of Commerce in Albania), and member of the A.B.C.C.I. (Albanian British Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
