Rome

In the centre of Rome
Our Rome office is located in a historical building of the city center of Rome which overlooks Piazza del Popolo. The Soderini-Frankenstein Palace was built around 1901 based on the design of the American architect Mrs. Clotilde Brewster (1874-1937), one of the first women architects. The works were supervised by the engineer Mr. Giovanni Giovannoni (1873-1947), who later became famous for the construction of the Peroni plant in Via Alessandria and for urban interventions, such as the Garbatella district or the improvement of the current Via Petroselli. The Soderini-Frankenstein Palace is one of the first works of Mr. Giovannoni documented, together with an adjacent Soderini building, also designed and realized in Via Principessa Clotilde No. 9. Mrs. Brewster designed several buildings in Rome, Perugia, England, France and Russia. The palace has been restored to its original appearance, characterized by light colors, where the architectural elements in relief have travertine shades and the flat parts are almost white. In this respect, the original design was inspired directly to the twin churches of Santa Maria di Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli of Piazza del Popolo, of which the palace is one of architectural backdrops on the west side, towards the Tevere river and the Regina Margherita bridge inaugurated about 10 years before building the palace.
